  • We are looking for an experienced and dependable Accountant to join our team.
  • This role is particularly suited to an accountant who has worked in a construction, engineering, procurement or EPC environment and understands that project accounting requires more than keeping financial records.
  • You should be comfortable working with project teams, monitoring costs, reviewing supplier and contractor payments, and ensuring that financial activities are properly documented and controlled.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor project related expenses and ensure costs are properly captured and allocated.
  • Prepare and review financial reports, reconciliations, schedules and project accounts.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Must have practical experience in EPC, construction, engineering, procurement or a project based environment.
  • ICAN, ACCA or other relevant professional qualification will be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of project accounting, cost control and financial reporting.
  • Practical knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management and contractor payments.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience using accounting software.
  • Good analytical and reconciliation skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with engineers, project managers, procurement personnel, contractors and management.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.

What we are looking for:

  • Beyond the qualifications, we are looking for someone who is reliable, organised, commercially aware and confident with numbers.
  • You should be able to look at a project transaction and understand not just how to record it, but why it matters, how it affects project cost, and whether the supporting documentation and approval process are appropriate.
  • This is not a role for someone whose experience is limited to routine bookkeeping. We need an accountant who has been exposed to the realities of construction, engineering, procurement and project finance and can work comfortably with different teams to maintain strong financial controls.
