Job Description

  • We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Sales Representative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales, managing customer relationships, facilitating product deliveries, handling collections and reconciliations and ensuring accurate reporting to support efficient sales and distribution operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Delivery & Logistics

  • Plan and follow time - and cost-effective delivery routes based on customer locations, using alternatives where needed
  • Verify dispatched products and assets against the delivery book and accept custody by signing the dispatch book
  • Deliver products accurately, safely and on time to vendors as per scheduled routes
  • Adhere to food safety standards during handling, transit and delivery to prevent spoilage or loss

Sales Execution and Customer Engagement

  • Execute daily sales activities within the assigned territory or route
  • Take accurate customer orders and follow up to ensure fulfillment
  • Achieve assigned daily, weekly and monthly targets
  • Collect real time market intelligence including competitor activity and emerging trends

Cash Management and Reconciliation

  • Collect customer payments in full and ensure accurate reconciliation in accordance with approved company procedures
  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding orders and customer balances
  • Reconcile daily collections against delivered orders and payment received
  • Report any discrepancies, shortfalls or payment -related issues immediately

Reporting and System Use

  • Submit daily sales, delivery and collection reports within the required timelines
  • Report market developments, customer concerns, stock availability and operational challenges
  • Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled in the system
  • Maintain accurate and up to date customer and sales records

Requirements

  • Diploma or Certificate in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration or related field
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in sales distribution, FMCG, fresh produce or related field
  • Experience in route sales, product delivery and cash handling
  • Good Communication, negotiation and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in the field and meet daily sales and delivery targets
  • Good numerical and record keeping skills
  • Must be reliable, organized and customer focused
