Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise all mechanical works on site: HVAC (split-unit systems), domestic cold and hot water supply, sanitary drainage, soil stacks, rainwater drainage, water treatment plant installation, sewage treatment plant installation, and fire suppression systems
  • Review mechanical shop drawings and material submittals; recommend approval or rejection to the Programme and MEP Manager
  • Inspect all mechanical first-fix installations before partitions close; confirm pipe sizing, support spacing, and fall on drainage systems
  • Witness all pressure tests on pipework; issue pressure test certificates
  • Manage and supervise all mechanical subcontractor gangs; check daily labour and plant returns
  • Ensure all mechanical penetrations through slabs and walls are sleeved, fire-stopped, and sealed correctly
  • Lead mechanical commissioning and testing in coordination with the MEP Commissioning Engineer: filling and flushing, water treatment commissioning, sewage treatment commissioning, HVAC commissioning and balancing
  • Produce mechanical inspection and test records for inclusion in the Operations and Maintenance Manual

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering; COREN registration is preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of mechanical site engineering experience on multi-storey residential or commercial buildings
  • Experience commissioning water treatment plant and sewage treatment systems is a significant advantage
  • Good understanding of HVAC systems including split-unit installation and balancing
  • Membership of NSE is an advantage

  • Thorough in inspections and record-keeping
  • Able to manage multiple mechanical subcontractor teams simultaneously
