Role Purpose

  • The Human Resource Officer will provide comprehensive HR support across employee administration, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, staff development, and implementation of HR policies and procedures. The role will support effective people management and ensure HR practices comply with applicable labour requirements and organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee files and HR records in line with statutory and organizational requirements.
  • Prepare employment contracts, offer letters, confirmation letters, termination letters, and other HR documentation.
  • Handle HR enquiries and provide timely support to employees and management.
  • Review departmental timetables and staff coverage to support effective workforce deployment.
  • Collect, analyze, and prepare HR reports and workforce data for management.
  • Support employee relations by handling grievances, disputes, and other employee concerns fairly and promptly.
  • Participate in disciplinary meetings, take accurate minutes, and ensure disciplinary documentation is properly completed and filed.
  • Support recruitment and selection processes, including job advertising, CV screening, background checks, interviewing, and recruitment reports.
  • Maintain personnel files and ensure all required recruitment and onboarding documents are complete.
  • Support performance management processes, including appraisals, performance feedback, and Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
  • Prepare and consolidate performance appraisal reports for management review.
  • Conduct and coordinate employee coaching, counselling, and performance follow-ups where required.
  • Support the implementation and review of HR policies, procedures, and programmes in line with labour laws.
  • Support payroll and personnel administration and ensure HR information is accurate and up to date.
  • Support employee training and development, including training needs assessments and development plans.
  • Coordinate onboarding and ensure employees and trainees meet the required documentation and statutory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with employees and management.
  • Support HR planning and implementation of HR initiatives in line with organizational needs.
  • Keep abreast of HR trends, labour requirements, and developments relevant to the healthcare environment.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Perform other HR-related duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management.
  • Membership with IHRM in good standing.
  • At least 2 years experience in the healthcare sector.
  • Good understanding of basic HR practices and procedures.
  • Experience in employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and HR administration.
  • Proficiency in HRMIS.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
