  • Pearl Hospital is seeking a proactive and dependable Human Resource Officer to manage day-to-day HR operations and help build an accountable, supportive and high-performing workplace.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, contracts, staff records and separation processes.
  • Monitor attendance, leave, probation, contract renewals, staffing levels and payroll inputs.
  • Coordinate performance appraisals and follow up agreed staff and departmental actions.
  • Support disciplinary processes, grievance resolution and employee relations.
  • Develop, update and implement HR policies, procedures and standard documentation.
  • Coordinate staff orientation, training, recognition, engagement and succession initiatives.
  • Maintain HR reports and provide management with reliable information on staffing, turnover, absenteeism, overtime and other workforce indicators.
  • Ensure compliance with Kenyan employment laws, professional requirements and hospital policies.
  • Advise departmental leaders on routine HR and people-management matters.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
  • At least three years of relevant generalist HR experience.
  • Current membership with the Institute of Human Resource Management.
  • Sound working knowledge of Kenyan employment and labour laws.
  • Practical experience in recruitment, performance management, employee relations, disciplinary processes and HR administration.
  • Strong documentation, Excel, reporting and organisational skills.
  • High integrity, discretion and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in a hospital or healthcare organisation is an added advantage.
  • CHRP-K qualification is an added advantage.
