Job Purpose

  • The Commercial Manager will be responsible for driving the hospital's commercial growth and revenue-generating activities through effective business development, marketing, partnership management, customer engagement, and commercial strategy.
  • The role will support the development and implementation of strategies that strengthen the hospital's market position, increase revenue, improve customer acquisition and retention, and expand business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement commercial strategies and initiatives to achieve revenue and business growth objectives.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, partnerships, corporate accounts, and strategic relationships.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, corporate organizations, HMOs, insurance companies, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage corporate/business accounts to increase patient referrals and revenue.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, customer needs, and emerging business opportunities.
  • Develop and execute marketing and business development initiatives in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Coordinate corporate outreach, promotional activities, campaigns, and other initiatives aimed at increasing visibility and patient acquisition.
  • Prepare and present commercial proposals, business plans, partnership proposals, and reports to Management.
  • Monitor commercial performance against agreed targets and provide regular reports and recommendations.
  • Work closely with hospital management and operational teams to ensure commercial initiatives align with service delivery objectives.
  • Support the development of pricing, packages, promotions, and other commercial initiatives where applicable.
  • Track customer feedback and market intelligence and recommend strategies for improving customer acquisition, retention, and satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records of business development activities, leads, partnerships, client engagements, and commercial opportunities.
  • Negotiate and manage business relationships and agreements within approved organizational policies and authority limits.
  • Represent the hospital at relevant business, corporate, networking, and industry events.
  • Ensure all commercial activities comply with hospital policies, applicable regulations, and professional standards.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by Management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or HND in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Management, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 - 12 years' relevant experience in commercial management, business development, sales, marketing, or a related role.
  • Experience in the healthcare, hospital, insurance, HMO, or related service industry will be an added advantage.
  • Proven experience in business development, client relationship management, corporate partnerships, and revenue generation.
  • Demonstrable experience in achieving commercial or business development targets.
