Role Description

  • The Business Development Executive will play a key role in expanding TPPC's customer base and driving revenue growth in Lagos. This full-time, on-site position involves identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, generating and qualifying leads, and managing relationships with existing and prospective clients. The role includes preparing and delivering presentations and proposals, negotiating terms, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure customer needs are met.
  • The Business Development Executive will track market trends, maintain accurate sales records, and provide regular reports on pipeline, performance, and opportunities for growth.

Roles

  • Lead generation & prospecting Identify and pursue new business opportunities restaurants, cafés, cloud kitchens, lounges, corporate clients - through outreach, referrals, trade events, and digital channels.
  • Pipeline & CRM management Maintain an accurate, up-to-date pipeline in the CRM logging leads, follow-ups, quotes, and deal stages so nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Client relationship management Build and sustain relationships with existing clients, ensuring repeat orders and identifying opportunities to grow account value over time.
  • Sales presentations & proposals Pitch TPPC's product range effectively, prepare quotes/proposals, and handle objections (e.g., pricing vs. plastic alternatives) confidently and persuasively.
  • Market & competitor intelligence Stay informed on packaging industry trends, competitor pricing/offerings, and shifts in client needs (e.g., sustainability regulations) to inform sales strategy.
  • Negotiation & deal closing Negotiate terms and pricing within approved limits, and drive deals from quote to signed sales order efficiently.
  • Cross-functional coordination Work closely with production, customer care, and accounts to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time, and that client expectations are managed realistically from the point of sale.
  • Revenue & target accountability Consistently track performance against assigned sales targets, and report accurately on numbers deals closed, revenue generated, conversion rates.
  • Customer retention & feedback loop Follow up post-delivery to ensure satisfaction, resolve early concerns before they escalate (tying back to the kind of traceability and care that matters after situations like the Akindele case), and gather feedback that can inform product or service improvements.
  • Brand representation Represent TPPC's values particularly its eco-friendly mission - credibly to prospects, since sustainability is often a key selling point against plastic-packaging incumbents.

Qualifications

  • Excellent Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication and confident presentation abilities.
  • Relevant experience in sales or business development, preferably in packaging, manufacturing, or FMCG sectors.
  • Proficiency in basic CRM tools and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and proposal development.
  • Bachelor's degree or HND in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
