Job Purpose

  • The Business Development Executive will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities within the Oil & Gas and EPC sectors, with a strong focus on tendering, bidding, proposal development and client acquisition
  • The role requires a commercially driven professional who understands how Oil & Gas projects are sourced, tendered, priced and awarded. The successful candidate will manage opportunities from initial identification through tender preparation, submission, follow up and eventual contract award.
  • Practical experience in Oil & Gas tendering and bidding is mandatory. Candidates without this experience will not be considered.

Responsibilities

Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Oil & Gas and EPC sectors.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients, consultants, contractors and other key industry stakeholders.
  • Monitor market developments, upcoming projects, client requirements and industry opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain an active business development pipeline.
  • Conduct client and market research to identify potential projects and commercial opportunities.
  • Arrange and participate in client meetings, presentations, business development engagements and industry events.
  • Support the development and execution of strategies for securing new contracts and expanding existing client relationships.

Tendering and Bidding:

  • Monitor and identify relevant tenders, Requests for Proposals, Requests for Quotations, Expressions of Interest and other procurement opportunities.
  • Review tender requirements, scope of work, commercial conditions, submission instructions and qualification criteria.
  • Coordinate the preparation and submission of competitive technical and commercial bids.
  • Work closely with Projects, Engineering, Procurement, Finance and other relevant departments to obtain information required for bids.
  • Prepare bid documentation, commercial submissions, company profiles, capability statements and other tender requirements.
  • Ensure that all tender submissions are complete, accurate and submitted within stipulated deadlines.
  • Maintain a structured tender and bid tracker showing opportunities, submission dates, status, outcomes and required follow up.
  • Conduct post tender follow up with clients and relevant stakeholders.
  • Track unsuccessful bids and gather feedback to improve future submissions.
  • Support commercial negotiations and contract award processes.

Client and Account Management:

  • Maintain regular engagement with existing clients to identify additional business opportunities.
  • Develop strong working relationships with procurement, commercial, technical and project teams within client organizations.
  • Track client requirements and ensure timely responses to enquiries and requests.
  • Support contract renewal, repeat business and cross selling opportunities.

Internal Coordination:

  • Work closely with Projects & Engineering to understand technical capabilities, project requirements and delivery capacity.
  • Liaise with Finance on pricing, commercial assumptions and financial requirements for bids.
  • Coordinate with Procurement and other departments to obtain vendor, material and subcontractor information required for tender submissions.
  • Ensure smooth handover of awarded opportunities to the relevant project and operational teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Marketing, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • 4 - 6 years' relevant Business Development experience.
  • Proven experience within the Oil & Gas industry is mandatory.
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience in Oil & Gas tendering and bidding is mandatory.
  • Experience working within an EPC, engineering, procurement, construction or technical services environment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Oil & Gas procurement processes, tendering procedures and commercial practices.
  • Experience preparing proposals, commercial submissions and tender documentation.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with Oil & Gas clients and industry stakeholders.
