Purpose

  • To fabricate, construct, install and repair equipment according to the given specification to enhance optimum productivity.

The Job

  • Ensure all job orders/request are efficiently carried out
  • Calculate materials quantity needed for each job order and send it to the supervisor for appropriate requisition.
  • Fabricate jobs according to the design specification.
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
  • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
  • Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
  • Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
  • Take responsibility for working tools and to be accountable for it when requested
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.

The Person Must Have:

  • Be organised and able to manage materials efficiently
  • Have a strong sense of responsibility and accountability
  • Possess good communication and teamwork skills
  • Be able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Qualifications

  • OND/NABTEB/C&G/WAEC TECH in a relevant discipline.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years' cognate experience preferably in a manufacturing, production or FMCG environment
