Job Summary

• We are looking for a skilled and experienced Welder to join our production team and support the fabrication of metal components and structures used in our furniture products.
• The Welder will be responsible for cutting, preparing, welding, and assembling metal components according to technical drawings, measurements, and production specifications.
• The successful candidate must be able to produce strong, accurate, and clean welds while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

Welding & Fabrication:

• Perform welding and fabrication of metal furniture frames, legs, bases, brackets, supports, and other components.
• Read and understand measurements, drawings, sketches, and fabrication specifications.
• Cut, shape, drill, and prepare metal materials for welding.
• Set up and operate welding machines and related fabrication tools.
• Perform MIG, TIG, arc/MMA, or other appropriate welding techniques as required.
• Ensure accurate alignment, dimensions, angles, and positioning of metal components.
• Grind, smooth, and clean welded surfaces to achieve the required finish.
• Inspect completed welds for strength, appearance, and quality.
• Make necessary adjustments and repairs to defective or poorly welded components.
• Work closely with the Design and Production teams to ensure products are manufactured according to specifications.

Quality & Production:

• Meet daily and weekly production targets.
• Ensure all fabricated components meet the company's quality standards.
• Minimize material waste when cutting and fabricating metal.
• Identify and report material defects, equipment problems, or production issues.
• Maintain accurate use and handling of welding materials and consumables.
• Ensure completed work is properly prepared for grinding, painting, powder coating, or other finishing processes.

Equipment & Workshop Maintenance:

• Maintain welding machines, grinders, cutting tools, drills, and other workshop equipment in good working condition.
• Carry out basic maintenance and troubleshooting where appropriate.
• Keep the welding and fabrication area clean and organized.
• Store tools and equipment safely after use.
• Report damaged or faulty equipment to the Production Manager.

Health & Safety:

• Follow all workshop and welding safety procedures.
• Wear appropriate PPE, including welding helmets, gloves, safety boots, protective clothing, and eye protection.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of gas cylinders and other welding materials.
• Maintain proper ventilation and fire-safety practices in the welding area.
• Immediately report safety hazards, accidents, or equipment faults.

Requirements

• 2 - 5 years of experience as a Welder / Fabricator.
• Previous experience in furniture manufacturing, metal fabrication, construction, or a related industry is preferred.
• Strong practical knowledge of welding and metal fabrication.
• Experience working with materials such as mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, and metal tubing is an advantage.
• Ability to read measurements and basic technical drawings.
• Ability to accurately measure, cut, align, and assemble metal components.
• Experience with MIG, TIG, ARC/MMA, or other relevant welding methods.
• Ability to operate grinders, drills, cutting machines, and other fabrication tools.
• Good understanding of welding safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
• Physically fit and able to work in a workshop environment.
