Job Summary

• West Swiss Hotel is seeking a qualified and experienced Surveyor to support the planning, measurement, costing, maintenance, renovation, and development of the hotel's physical infrastructure and property projects.
• The successful candidate will provide accurate surveying and technical information, monitor contractors and project works, assess quantities and materials, and support the hotel's management in ensuring that construction and maintenance projects are delivered to the required standards, within budget and according to agreed timelines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys, measurements, inspections, and assessments of hotel buildings, facilities, and surrounding properties.
• Prepare accurate measurements, estimates, schedules of materials, and project documentation.
• Assist in the planning and execution of hotel renovation, refurbishment, expansion, and maintenance projects.
• Monitor construction and maintenance works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
• Verify quantities of materials used and work completed by contractors.
• Review contractors' valuations, invoices, quotations, and claims before submission for approval.
• Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, and project budgets where applicable.
• Monitor project costs and identify potential variations, wastage, or cost overruns.
• Conduct regular site inspections and prepare progress reports.
• Liaise with the Facility Manager, Civil Engineer, contractors, architects, consultants, and other technical personnel.
• Identify defects, structural concerns, drainage issues, boundary concerns, and other property-related technical matters.
• Maintain accurate records of surveys, measurements, drawings, project costs, and completed works.
• Assist with land/property documentation and boundary-related matters where required.
• Support procurement by providing technical specifications and quantity information for construction materials.
• Ensure contractors adhere to agreed specifications, quality standards, health and safety requirements.
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical updates to management.
• Assist with property development and capital expenditure planning.
• Carry out additional technical assessments and surveying duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• B.Sc./HND in Quantity Surveying, Land Surveying, Building Technology, or a closely related discipline.
• 3 - 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience in hotel, commercial, residential, construction, or property development projects is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of construction processes, measurements, materials, and project documentation.
• Ability to prepare or interpret Bills of Quantities, estimates, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Strong understanding of construction costing and contractor valuation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant surveying, estimating, or CAD software.
• Good knowledge of quality control, health and safety, and construction standards.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and contractor-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and conduct regular site inspections.
• Professional membership or relevant certification is an advantage.
