Job Summary

  • The Reservoir Engineer will provide reservoir engineering support across the lifecycle of OML 30 wells and fields. The role will support gas commercialisation, field development, reservoir modelling and surveillance, reserves estimation, production forecasting, well intervention, infill drilling and production optimisation activities.

Job Details

Reporting to the GM, Technical, the Reservoir Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Provide reservoir engineering support for the OML 30 gas commercialisation project.
  • Provide hands-on technical input into the Osioka unitised development.
  • Support the Olomoro infield water-disposal projects and ongoing drilling activities.
  • Develop and maintain reservoir and well-surveillance databases.
  • Support the identification and recommendation of well-intervention candidates.
  • Support reserves audits across OML 30 reservoirs and fields.
  • Provide reservoir engineering input during the planning and execution of infill-well drilling.
  • Plan, evaluate and support the execution of field-development and well-drilling programmes.
  • Integrate subsurface, production and operational data to develop robust well and reservoir models.
  • Identify key reservoir uncertainties and recommend appropriate risk-mitigation measures.
  • Improve reservoir descriptions through fluid analysis, core evaluation, well-test interpretation and production-performance analysis.
  • Conduct production forecasts and reserves assessments to support development, depletion planning and production optimisation.
  • Build new dynamic reservoir simulation models and update existing models during Field Development Plan revisions.
  • Evaluate and optimise existing development plans and identify new opportunities.
  • Assess the production potential, costs and economic value of oil and gas wells and development opportunities.
  • Recommend well placement and supplementary recovery processes to improve production.
  • Support ongoing enhanced oil recovery studies for selected OML 30 reservoirs.
  • Estimate proved, probable and possible reserves using relevant tools and recognised standards.
  • Conduct economic evaluations of oil and gas projects within the asset.
  • Collaborate with geologists, petrophysicists, drilling engineers, production technologists and facilities engineers.
  • Ensure activities comply with corporate policies, regulatory requirements and applicable HSSE standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Gas Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, with a minimum of Second-Class Lower Honours.
  • A Master of Engineering degree will be an advantage.
  • Relevant professional registration or membership, such as COREN, NSE, P.Eng. or SPE.
  • At least 10 years' relevant oil and gas industry experience.
  • Strong experience in reservoir engineering, field development and reservoir management.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct decline-curve analysis, material-balance evaluation and reserves estimation.
  • Experience building and updating dynamic reservoir simulation models.
  • Ability to perform static and volumetric reservoir assessments.
  • Experience with PVT analysis, core evaluation, well-test interpretation and production-performance analysis.
  • Knowledge of SPE-PRMS or other recognised reserves-classification standards.
  • Experience contributing to Field Development Plans and evaluating alternative development strategies.
  • Ability to develop production forecasts and evaluate actual performance against forecasts.
  • Experience supporting well, completion and intervention planning.
  • Strong understanding of petroleum economics and cash-flow modelling.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary technical teams with limited supervision.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and technical-reporting skills.
