SERVICE dimensions

High professional / ethical standards in Patients reception, during radiographic examinations and reporting. Radiation and material management.

Operational availability for Radiographic duties minimum 8hrs/day (40hrs/wk), emergencies and minimum 3hrs Saturdays / Public Holidays, under the Manager, Medical Administration's supervision.

Activities

  • Administration of the LOS Medical Radiology Unit, collaborating with the PHC Radiographer.
  • Conduction of general and emergency radiographic examinations (for adults and children).
  • Development and maintenance of effective stock control and ordering of radiographic materials for Lagos Clinic.
  • Acting as Medical Radiation Safety Officer, ensuring the safe administration of radiation to Patients in Lagos Clinic.
  • Documentation and dispatching of personnel dosimeter badges to the Company Radiation Safety Officer.
  • Ensuring timely reporting of radiation related incidents as required by the applicable Regulations.
  • Implementation of radiation monitoring programmes for Lagos Clinic.
  • Maintenance of X-ray equipment.
  • Co-ordinating inspection visits of Regulators; Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA).

Context and environment

The position works in tandem with other professionals of the Division for effective provision of services and looks up to the hierarchy for direction on policy matters.

Environmental difficulties can arise from unrealistic / unreasonable expectations and demands.

Compliance with rules of relevant Regulatory Authorities.

Technical: Accuracy and precision in conduction and timely reporting of Radiographic examinations.

Behaviour: Ability to work within a team. Good sense of service and careful custody of equipment and materials. High integrity. Maintaining confidentiality of all activities.

Qualifications / experience required

  • Minimum HND in Radiographer with commensurate 10years post-qualification experience in a reputable health institution.
  • Mandatory registration with the Radiography Board and possession of current Practice License.
