Pharmacist

Job Summary

• The successful candidate will be responsible for dispensing medications, providing pharmaceutical care, counselling patients, and ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines in accordance with professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications accurately.
• Review prescriptions to ensure appropriate medication, dosage, and administration.
• Provide professional advice and counselling to patients on medication use, side effects, and possible drug interactions.
• Monitor patients' medication therapy and promote rational drug use.
• Manage pharmaceutical inventory, monitor stock levels, and ensure proper storage of medications.
• Monitor drug expiry dates and ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of prescriptions and medication dispensing.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
• Promote health awareness and educate patients on disease prevention.
• Ensure compliance with professional ethics and regulatory guidelines.

Requirements and Qualifications

• B.Pharm or Pharm.D from a recognised institution.
• Must be duly registered with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
• Must possess a valid practising licence.
• Previous work experience is an added advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
