Venus Finance is seeking a results-driven Loan Officer responsible for sourcing and onboarding new borrowers, evaluating loan applications, managing the lending process, and maintaining strong customer relationships while ensuring the quality and performance of the loan portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review loan applications, assess customers' creditworthiness, and conduct appropriate credit analysis before making loan recommendations.
  • Manage the loan process from customer acquisition and application through assessment, approval, documentation, and disbursement.
  • Conduct customer due diligence and verify customer information, financial records, and supporting documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to support customer retention and portfolio growth.
  • Monitor loan portfolios and follow up with customers to ensure timely repayment.
  • Proactively follow up on overdue loans and support appropriate recovery and collection activities.
  • Ensure all loan documentation and customer records are complete, accurate, and properly maintained.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's lending policies, procedures, credit standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare regular reports on loan applications, approvals, disbursements, repayments, outstanding balances, and portfolio performance.
  • Meet agreed business development, loan acquisition, disbursement, and portfolio performance targets.
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing customer relationships and generate additional quality lending opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • 2 - 3 years of relevant experience in lending, credit, banking, microfinance, or financial services.
  • Experience in consumer and/or SME lending is an added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of credit assessment, loan documentation, portfolio monitoring, and collections.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and customer relationship management skills.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to work independently and meet business targets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
