Role Description

  • This is a full-time role for an Executive Assistant supporting the CEO and COO, based in Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria. We're scaling fast ahead of launch, and this role owns the people function end to end recruitment coordination, onboarding, contracts, payroll inputs, policies, performance frameworks, and culture. You'll working directly with the founders as their eyes and ears within the staff. You will be building the HR function rather than inheriting one. This is a hands-on role for someone who is organised, discreet, commercially minded, and comfortable operating with limited supervision in a business moving at startup speed.

What You'll Do

  • Own end-to-end recruitment operations: role scoping with hiring managers, posting, pipeline management, interview scheduling, offers, and reference checks
  • Run onboarding and offboarding, including contracts, equipment, access, and probation reviews
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation, and prepare monthly payroll inputs for finance
  • Draft, implement, and maintain HR policies compliant with Nigerian labour law
  • Build and administer performance review cycles, KPI documentation, and promotion processes
  • Manage employee relations matters grievances, disciplinary processes, and conflict resolution fairly and confidentially
  • Administer leave, benefits, HMO enrolment, and statutory contributions
  • Support engagement and culture initiatives as the team grows
  • Manage relationships with recruiters, HMO providers, and other people-related vendors
  • Report headcount, attrition, and hiring metrics to leadership monthly

What We're Looking For

  • 4+ years of HR generalist experience, with at least 2 years in a fast-growing company
  • Strong working knowledge of Nigerian labour law and statutory compliance
  • Proven experience running recruitment at volume across both technical and non-technical roles
  • Experience drafting contracts, policies, and handbooks from scratch
  • High discretion and sound judgement you'll handle sensitive information daily
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to run multiple open processes in parallel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Comfort with HRIS tools and spreadsheets (especially excel)
  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; CIPM certification is an advantage

Nice to Have

  • Experience in betting, gaming, fintech, or another regulated industry
  • Experience hiring software engineers and working alongside technical leaders
  • Experience setting up an HR function from zero
