Role Description

  • The Head of Treasury is a full-time, on-site role based in Abuja, responsible for leading and overseeing the bank's treasury function. This role manages daily liquidity and cash flow, optimizes funding sources, and ensures effective deployment of surplus funds in line with regulatory requirements and the bank's risk appetite. The Head of Treasury will develop and implement treasury strategies, including hedging and investment policies, while monitoring market trends, interest rates, and foreign exchange movements to support business decisions.
  • Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising cash management operations, coordinating with finance and risk teams, preparing treasury reports, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. The role also involves leading the treasury team, fostering strong relationships with financial institutions and regulators, and contributing to the bank's long-term funding and capital planning.

Maintain an appropriate maturity profile to ensure funds are available to meet the Bank's obligations as they fall due. Monitor liquidity buffers and escalate emerging funding or liquidity pressures promptly. Support the Bank in maintaining applicable regulatory liquidity and reserve requirements. Money Market & Investment Management Identify and evaluate suitable money market and permissible investment opportunities within the Bank's approved investment mandate. Originate, price and negotiate placements with approved banks, financial institutions, asset managers and other authorised counterparties. Monitor prevailing market rates and identify opportunities to optimise returns while preserving liquidity and capital. Recommend placements and investments for approval in accordance with delegated authority and approved limits.
