Location: Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania Reporting Line: Managing Director About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Head of Finance to join our team in Dar Es Salaam. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will coordinate the provision of effective financial support services within the business. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all financial operations comply with legislation and company policies. Key Responsibilities Financial Planning & Budgeting Prepare and ensure the timeous submission of the region’s annual budget for Head Office approval, conforming to defined budget guidelines and principles. Maintain expenditure within approved levels by ensuring compliance with budgetary control procedures. Prepare and submit accurate forecasts of monthly results timeously, facilitating the implementation of proactive measures to obviate unacceptable outcomes. Accounting & Administrative Control Ensure timeous and accurate processing of decentralized accounting transactions on the ERP system, maintaining detailed records with supporting source documentation. Manage the regional Accounts Receivable function, implementing effective credit control measures to ensure that cash flow is maximised. Analyze and evaluate monthly accounts, reviewing actual performance against budget, identifying trends, and highlighting variances to provide accurate management information to the Managing Director. Implement cost-saving initiatives. Effectively coordinate litigation, insurance, and other claims. Leadership & Team Development Effectively manage subordinate personnel in terms of performance assessments. Drive skills development and career path planning for your team. Health, Safety & Compliance Participate in the design, development, review, implementation, and monitoring of the branch/region/national safety plans for each year. Participate in safety forums created by the company, such as safety meetings and safety talks, and report all safety incidents to the relevant people. Discuss all safety incidents on all levels and follow up on any activities assigned through safety meetings, committees, or management. Attend safety education and refresher programmes, comply with safety policies at the workplace, distribute safety information as required, and wear protective clothing all the time. Ensure compliance with all statutory, tax, and compliance obligations. Minimum Requirements Education & Qualifications Relevant Bachelor’s degree in Financial Management or Accounting (postgraduate degree highly advantageous). Qualified Chartered Accountant (or recognized equivalent professional accounting certification). Experience Minimum 5 years’ Senior management experience in Accounting and/or Finance. Knowledge of local tax law and company law. Familiarity with security industry legislation is advantageous. Core Skills & Attributes Leading People, Managing Professionally, and Managing Conflict. Undertake regional budget management and support program team in compiling, monitoring and tracking budgets Provide administrative support to regional work, including programs, grants and partnership teams on procurement, logistical support for Transform Trade staff and project activities as required. Ensure compliance with Transform Trade policies, government statutory requirements and donor requirements. Ensure sufficient internal financial controls and policies are regularly reviewed.
