What we are looking for

  • The Finance Manager is responsible for ensuring a functional finance structure in the country office, following organisational minimum standards.
  • The role works towards providing optimal support to programme implementation and other functions within the structure.
  • The position holder plays a key role in financial planning and analysis and the allocation of financial resources to the different areas of implementation.

What you will do

  • Oversee the implementation of all Finance related policies, procedures, strategies, and initiatives in coordination with the Finance team in country and area offices to ensure success, consistency, and compliance.
  • Line management responsibility for direct reporting staff and technical supervision responsibility for finance staff in area offices based on the NRC Technical Supervision. Guidelines. This includes:
  • Performance management process setting clear goals aligned to strategic priorities and follow up and support staff's achievement.
  • Workforce planning, recruitment, staff induction and development, and support for Duty of Care.
  • Develop and maintain country financial documents, procedures, guidance, and tools, including strategy, ensuring consistency across the country programme and in line with organisational standards.
  • Maintain the country's overall budget control and monitor cash flows.
  • Ensure that budgeting, accounting, year-end procedures, and other financial processes take place in adherence to Financial Handbook, NRC policies, and donor and auditor requirements.
  • Train and develop NRC staff and partners' capacity on financial and budgeting responsibilities.
  • Carry out a proper implementation for the Anti-Corruption Policy within all finance operations and activities.

What you will bring

Qualifications and Requirements Education Bachelor\'s Degree/HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline. A Master\'s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a related field is an advantage. Professional Certifications ACA - Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). ACCA, CFA, CIMA or other recognised professional finance qualification may be considered. Professional certification in Treasury Management is an advantage. Experience Minimum of 10 - 15 years of progressive experience in Finance, Treasury, Corporate Finance or related functions. Minimum of 5 years in a senior financial management role. Proven experience managing treasury and liquidity functions. Proven experience in sourcing and structuring business funding. Experience dealing directly with commercial banks and financial institutions. Experience negotiating loans, overdrafts, project finance or other financing facilities. Experience preparing financial models and funding proposals. Experience in a Group structure with multiple subsidiaries is strongly preferred. Experience across Hospitality and Real Estate is highly desirable. Experience in property development finance, project finance or investment funding is an advantage.
