Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise all electrical works on site: LV distribution network, containment and cabling, consumer units and distribution boards, sub-metering, lighting, power sockets, standby generator installation and automatic transfer switch, solar power installation, external and streetlighting, CCTV, access control systems, and data and communications cabling
  • Ensure all external electrical installations are specified, supplied, and installed to the correct protection rating for coastal exposure
  • Review electrical shop drawings and material submittals; recommend approval or rejection to the Programme and MEP Manager
  • Inspect all electrical first-fix installations; check cable routes, containment, fire barriers, and circuit protection
  • Witness and record all electrical testing and inspection in accordance with applicable wiring regulations
  • Manage and supervise all electrical subcontractor gangs
  • Lead electrical commissioning and testing in the final phase: LV distribution, generator testing, solar power commissioning, and full estate lighting test
  • Produce the electrical test and inspection certificates and as-installed electrical drawings

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical Engineering; COREN registration is preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of electrical site engineering experience on major residential or commercial projects
  • Experience with standby generator installation, solar power systems, and coastal-rated electrical installations is preferred
  • Knowledge of applicable Nigerian and international electrical standards is required
  • Membership of NSE is an advantage

Key Competencies and Personal Attributes

  • Comprehensive knowledge of LV electrical installations and testing
  • Rigorous in compliance with applicable electrical standards
  • Experience with specialist systems including CCTV, access control, and solar power is an advantage
