Job Summary:

  • The Deposit Mobilization Officer is responsible for driving the acquisition of deposit funds from both new and existing clients, including individuals, SMEs, cooperatives, and corporate entities. This role is focused on developing and maintaining long term relationships that support the organization's funding goals, particularly in a microfinance environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to attract fixed deposits, savings, and other products from retail and institutional clients.
  • Identify, engage, and convert potential depositors through field visits, networking, referrals, partnerships, and digital campaigns.
  • Build strong relationships with high net worth individuals (HNIs), businesses, cooperatives, religious and professional bodies, etc.
  • Cross sell deposit products and ensure consistent customer engagement to retain funds.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of industry deposit rates and competitor offerings to position the organization competitively.
  • Ensure all deposit mobilization activities comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Track deposit performance and prepare periodic reports on targets, leads, conversions, and renewals.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., Operations, Audit& Compliance) to ensure seamless onboarding and satisfaction of deposit clients.

Requirement:

  • 3 to 5 years' experience in Deposit Mobilization in a Microfinance Bank, Fintech, or Commercial banking environment.
  • Strong analytical, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Good understanding of financial statements and business analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and meet targets under pressure.
  • Knowledge of the local SME ecosystem.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to compliance.
