Site Project Location: Lagos (with travel to project sites across Nigeria when required)

Job Summary
The Site Civil Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day supervision, coordination, and quality control of structural and civil engineering works on assigned projects.
The role ensures that all construction activities are executed in accordance with approved structural drawings, engineering specifications, project programmes, quality standards, and safety requirements.
The successful candidate will independently supervise structural works, coordinate site labour and subcontractors, monitor project progress, and ensure that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the quality standards expected by the Client.
The ideal candidate must possess strong technical knowledge of reinforced concrete construction, setting-out procedures, levelling, structural coordination, and construction methodologies for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
Key Responsibilities
Structural Construction Supervision:
Supervise all structural works from foundation to roof level
Site Coordination & Construction Management:
Coordinate daily construction activities with builders, architects, MEP engineers, subcontractors, artisans, and suppliers.
Plan daily work activities to achieve programme milestones
Setting-Out, Surveying & Construction Equipment:
The Site Civil Engineer must be proficient in the use of construction instruments including:
Automatic Level (Dumpy Level)
Laser Level
Theodolite
Total Station (working knowledge is an advantage)
Spirit Levels
Plumb Bob
Measuring Tapes
Chalk Lines
Straight Edges
Digital Measuring Devices Responsibilities include:
Establishing and transferring building gridlines.
Setting out foundations, columns, walls, roads, drainage, and external works
Quality Control:
Conduct routine inspections of structural and civil engineering works.
Verify reinforcement sizes, spacing, laps, anchorage lengths, and concrete cover before casting.
Monitor concrete batching, placement, vibration, and curing.
Programme & Progress Monitoring:
Implement approved Programmes of Work.
Labour & Subcontractor Management:
Supervise artisans, subcontractors, and labour teams.
Cost & Material Control:
Monitor material usage and minimise wastage
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance:
Enforce company HSE policies on site.
Documentation & Reporting:
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly site progress reports.
Qualifications
B.Sc. Degree or HND qualification in Civil Engineering.
4 - 7 years relevant post-graduate experience.
Experience supervising reinforced concrete structures.
Experience in residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments.
Demonstrated ability to independently supervise structural construction works.
Experience coordinating subcontractors and artisans.
Practical experience using construction surveying and levelling equipment.
