Job Summary

  • We are seeking a strategic and highly experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the organisation's financial strategy, governance, capital management, and financial operations.
  • The CFO will work closely with the executive leadership team to strengthen financial systems, optimise capital allocation, drive business performance, support strategic growth initiatives, and ensure strong financial governance and regulatory compliance.
  • The ideal candidate should combine strong technical finance expertise with strategic thinking, commercial awareness, excellent analytical ability, and the capacity to operate effectively in a fast-growing and evolving organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Governance:

  • Oversee financial reporting, regulatory filings, audits, and statutory compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, including IFRS and relevant statutory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal financial controls and risk management frameworks.
  • Oversee tax strategy, tax compliance, and related financial obligations.
  • Manage treasury operations, liquidity, cash flow forecasting, and banking relationships.
  • Prepare financial reports, management dashboards, Board reports, and executive presentations.

Capital Strategy & Fundraising:

  • Develop and optimise the organisation's capital structure across equity, debt, convertible instruments, and other financing options.
  • Lead fundraising activities and manage relationships with investors, financial institutions, and strategic funding partners.
  • Develop capital deployment strategies aligned with business growth, expansion, and investment objectives.Identify and explore non-dilutive funding opportunities, including grants and strategic partnerships.
  • Develop financial models and investment materials to support fundraising and strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate, transparent, and timely financial reporting for investors and stakeholders.

Strategic & Commercial Finance:

  • Serve as a key financial advisor to the executive leadership team.
  • Lead corporate financial planning and long-term financial strategy.
  • Evaluate business models, revenue streams, pricing structures, and expansion opportunities.
  • Provide financial analysis and modelling to support major business decisions.
  • Develop financial frameworks for new projects, market entry, and business expansion.
  • Support the organisation in identifying opportunities for sustainable revenue growth and value creation.

Financial Planning & Performance Management:

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning across the organisation.
  • Oversee FP&A activities and ensure alignment between financial performance and business objectives.
  • Monitor costs, revenue, profitability, cash flow, and key financial indicators.
  • Develop scenario-based financial models to support business planning.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and improved financial efficiency.

Risk, Compliance & Audit:

  • Develop and maintain enterprise-wide financial and operational risk management frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable financial, tax, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for auditors, regulators, legal advisors, and other external stakeholders.
  • Identify financial risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee internal and external audit processes.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing finance team.
  • Establish a culture of financial discipline, accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide financial insights and tools that improve financial literacy and accountability across the organisation.
  • Mentor finance team members and build long-term departmental capacity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Advanced professional qualifications such as CFA, CPA, ACA, ACCA, MBA, or relevant postgraduate qualifications are an added advantage.
  • Extensive experience in senior finance leadership roles, preferably within a growing or multi-business organisation.
  • Strong experience in financial strategy, FP&A, financial reporting, treasury, budgeting, and cash flow management.
  • Proven experience in capital raising, fundraising, investor relations, or corporate finance.
  • Strong knowledge of financial controls, regulatory compliance, taxation, and audit processes.
  • Experience developing financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses.
  • Strong understanding of capital structures, financing instruments, and investment strategies.
  • Proven ability to advise senior executives and contribute to strategic business decisions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
