JOB SUMMARY:

  • The Accounts/Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing all financial operations within the organization. This includes ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective collaboration with the parent company and sister companies.
  • The role plays a crucial part in supporting strategic decision-making by providing timely and accurate financial insights into the operations of the entity. The ideal candidate will closely collaborate with the management of the subsidiary while reporting directly to the CFO to ensure the integrity of financial information and adherence to regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare bank reconciliations on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy in cash management.
  • Conduct intercompany reconciliations by reviewing monthly reports and resolving discrepancies.
  • Prepare monthly income schedules and perform analytical reviews of subsidiaries' trial balances to clarify any abnormalities.

Loan and Lease Management:

  • Prepare and maintain loan/interest schedules and lease amortization schedules to track obligations and expenses.
  • Review reports from lease operations staff to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure timely completion of regulatory filings with relevant authorities and maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Prepare draft financial reports for audits, ensuring all documentation is accurate and readily available.

Consolidation & Variance Analysis:

  • Prepare financial reports and share them with the CFO for strategic insights.
  • Review subsidiaries' financial reports, identifying variances and providing explanations as necessary.

Strategic Support:

  • Support the CFO in preparing strategic journals and ensure all backup documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Work with strategic teams on crucial financial issues, providing financial insights to aid decision-making.

General Ledger Management:

  • Ensure postings in the general ledger (GL) are accurate and timely, maintaining the integrity of financial data.
  • Propose month-end journals for CFO approval, ensuring all entries are justified and documented.

Relationship Management:

  • Maintain strong relationships with banks and regulatory bodies to facilitate smooth financial operations.
  • Support the CFO with other ad-hoc financial tasks as required.

Competencies & Skills:

  • Financial Acumen: Strong financial reporting and analysis skills with a thorough understanding of accounting principles and regulatory standards.
  • Intercompany Management: Ability to manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations effectively.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities to guide the finance team.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in financial systems and ERP tools, with a strong understanding of financial software.
  • Detail-Oriented: Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities to address financial discrepancies and challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master's degree or professional certification such as CPA, ACCA or ICAN is needed).
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, with exposure to managerial responsibilities.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, analysis, and regulatory compliance.
