Job Description

• The X-Ray Technician (GL 07) is responsible for carrying out routine radiographic procedures to assist in clinical diagnosis and patient management within KTHSMB healthcare facilities. The role involves operating X-ray equipment, preparing and positioning patients, ensuring radiation protection, and maintaining imaging records. The technician will work under the supervision of a Radiographer or medical officer to deliver safe, accurate, and timely imaging services in line with healthcare standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine X-ray examinations as requested
• Prepare and correctly position patients for imaging procedures
• Operate X-ray machines and related radiographic equipment
• Ensure adherence to radiation safety and protection standards
• Assist in processing and reviewing radiographic images
• Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation
• Report equipment faults and assist in routine maintenance
• Ensure cleanliness and safety of the imaging unit
• Support radiographers and clinicians during procedures
• Provide clear instructions and reassurance to patients

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in X-Ray Technology or related field
• Basic knowledge of radiographic procedures
• Understanding of radiation safety practices
• Good communication and patient care skills
• Relevant experience
