About the Opportunity

RAWYOD is inviting applications from committed young people to serve as Youth Civic Intelligence Participants under the NYFF Project. Volunteers will support civic engagement and help monitor and document public projects and governance issues in their communities.

Selected volunteers will attend a three-day Civic Intelligence Lab and receive training in the use of the Arewa Civic Tracker. Two volunteers will be selected from each of the 17 LGAs. RAWYOD aims for at least 50% female participation and encourages applications from rural, underserved and marginalized communities, including persons with disabilities where feasible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the three-day Civic Intelligence Lab and project orientations.
  • Learn and use the Arewa Civic Tracker to document governance issues and public projects.
  • Collect and submit accurate, evidence-based information from the community.
  • Engage respectfully with community members, leaders and relevant institutions.
  • Complete assigned activities and submit information within agreed timelines.
  • Maintain a non-partisan, objective and responsible approach to civic monitoring.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be aged 18 - 35 years.
  • Have at least a Diploma, NCE or equivalent post-secondary qualification. Applicants with an ND, HND or BSc are encouraged to apply.
  • Reside in the LGA they wish to represent and have good knowledge of the community.
  • Own a smartphone or suitable smart device capable of running the Arewa Civic Tracker, accessing the internet and capturing GPS coordinates.
  • Demonstrate an interest in governance, accountability, community development, democracy, advocacy, public service delivery or citizen participation.
  • Communicate effectively in English, Hausa and/or relevant local languages.
  • Be available for the three-day Civic Intelligence Lab and subsequent project activities.
  • Be willing to participate on a non-partisan basis and comply with RAWYOD's Code of Conduct and safeguarding requirements.

Previous experience in youth engagement, community mobilization, advocacy, media, citizen monitoring or community development is an advantage, but it is not mandatory.

ABOUT THE ROLE Lindii Peace Foundation (LPF) is seeking a qualified, proactive and community-oriented Hygiene Promotion Officer to support the implementation of hygiene promotion, behaviour change and community engagement activities under its humanitarian and development programmes. The Hygiene Promotion Officer will be responsible for planning and implementing hygiene awareness activities, promoting safe hygiene practices, mobilizing communities, conducting hygiene needs assessments and monitoring changes in hygiene-related knowledge and behaviour. The post holder will work closely with the WASH team, community volunteers, health personnel, local authorities and community leaders to improve hygiene practices and reduce the risk of waterborne and sanitation-related diseases among affected populations. The successful candidate will support the development of context-appropriate hygiene promotion messages and materials, facilitate community sessions, monitor access to hygiene information and identify barriers preventing households from adopting safe hygiene practices. ABOUT THE ROLE Lindii Peace Foundation (LPF) is seeking a motivated and compassionate Nutrition Assistant to support the implementation of nutrition activities for vulnerable and crisis-affected populations. The Nutrition Assistant will provide practical field and programme support to nutrition activities, including nutrition screening, community mobilization, health and nutrition education, referrals, follow-up, data collection, documentation, and distribution of nutrition-related supplies where applicable. The position will work closely with the Nutrition Officer, Nutrition Programme Manager, health teams, community-based personnel, MEAL, and other programme and support functions to ensure that nutrition activities are implemented safely, effectively, and in accordance with approved guidelines, national protocols, humanitarian principles, and LPF policies.
