JOB SUMMARY:
To support the underwriting of individual and group life insurance businesses by assessing risks, processing new business and renewals, and providing accurate and timely policy servicing in line with company underwriting guidelines, delegated authority, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review and assess individual and group life insurance proposals and supporting documentation.
Conduct basic medical and financial risk assessment in accordance with underwriting guidelines.
Process new business, renewals, alterations, endorsements, reinstatements, and other policy transactions.
Assist in underwriting corporate/group life schemes, including preparation of quotations and renewal terms.
Review medical reports, claims experience, member schedules, and other relevant risk information.
Ensure accurate application of terms, exclusions, loadings, benefits, and sums assured.
Identify and refer risks outside delegated authority or the company's risk appetite.
Maintain accurate underwriting and policy records in the system.
Follow up on outstanding medical, financial, and other underwriting requirements.
Liaise with intermediaries, corporate clients, and internal departments on underwriting and servicing matters.
Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and underwriting procedures.
Maintain confidentiality of customer, medical, and financial information.
Prepare routine underwriting reports and perform other duties assigned by an authorized officer.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in insurance, Actuarial Science, Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
Progress towards professional insurance qualification AIIK/CII/ACII/COP is an added advantage.
Experience
1-year relevant experience in life insurance, preferably in underwriting or insurance operations.
Exposure to individual and group/corporate life underwriting is desirable.
Experience using the TurnQuest System is preferred.
