JOB PURPOSE

The Treasury Analyst - Asset & Liability Management (ALM) will support the effective management of the organisation's liquidity, funding, balance sheet and financial market exposures.

The role will provide analytical and operational support for ALM activities, including liquidity monitoring, cash flow forecasting, balance sheet analysis, interest-rate risk management, funding analysis, stress testing and ALM reporting.

The role will work closely with Treasury, Finance, Risk and other relevant stakeholders to provide timely insights that support sound liquidity, funding and balance-sheet management decisions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Asset & Liability Management

  • Support the monitoring and management of the organisation's assets and liabilities from an ALM perspective.
  • Analyze the maturity and repricing profiles of assets and liabilities.
  • Support the identification of asset-liability mismatches and potential liquidity or funding gaps.
  • Prepare regular ALM reports and management information.
  • Monitor key ALM indicators and highlight emerging risks or trends.

Liquidity Management

  • Monitor daily liquidity positions and available funding.
  • Support short-, medium- and long-term liquidity forecasting.
  • Track projected cash inflows and outflows and identify potential funding requirements.
  • Support the monitoring of liquidity ratios and internal liquidity limits.
  • Assist in developing liquidity contingency plans and funding strategies.

Interest Rate Risk Management

  • Support the monitoring of interest-rate exposures across the balance sheet.
  • Analyze repricing gaps and interest-rate sensitivities.
  • Support duration, sensitivity and scenario analysis where applicable.
  • Monitor market movements and assess potential implications for the organisation's funding and investment positions.

Funding & Treasury Activities

  • Support the analysis of funding requirements and available funding sources.
  • Assist with the monitoring of borrowing, placements and other treasury transactions.
  • Support treasury dealing and settlement activities where required.
  • Maintain accurate records of treasury positions and transactions.
  • Monitor funding costs and identify opportunities to improve funding efficiency.

Cash Flow & Financial Analysis

  • Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts.
  • Analyze actual versus projected cash flows and investigate material variances.
  • Support balance-sheet and financial performance analysis.
  • Provide financial analysis to support treasury and ALM decisions.
  • Develop financial models and analytical tools to support treasury planning.

Stress Testing & Scenario Analysis

  • Support liquidity and interest-rate stress testing exercises.
  • Develop scenarios to assess the impact of changes in funding, interest rates, liquidity and market conditions.
  • Analyze stress-test results and highlight potential vulnerabilities.
  • Support the development of appropriate mitigation actions.

ALM Reporting & Management Information

  • Prepare periodic ALM, liquidity and treasury reports.
  • Provide accurate and timely information for Treasury, Finance, Risk and Management.
  • Develop dashboards and analytical reports to improve visibility of liquidity and balance-sheet positions.
  • Ensure data used in ALM reporting is complete, accurate and properly reconciled.

Risk, Controls & Compliance

  • Ensure treasury and ALM activities are performed within approved policies, limits and controls.
  • Support the identification and escalation of treasury and liquidity risks.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and audit trails for treasury activities.
  • Support regulatory and internal reporting requirements.
  • Assist with audits and reviews relating to treasury and ALM activities.

Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with Finance, Risk, Investments, Operations and other relevant teams on ALM-related matters.
  • Provide analytical support to senior Treasury and Finance stakeholders.
  • Communicate treasury and ALM findings clearly and effectively.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives relating to liquidity, funding and balance-sheet management.

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualification such as CFA, ACCA, ICAN, CTP or equivalent is an advantage.
  • Relevant experience in Treasury, ALM, Finance, Risk Management, Banking or Financial Markets.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 2 - 4 years of relevant experience in Treasury, ALM, Finance, Risk or Financial Markets.
  • Experience with liquidity monitoring and cash flow forecasting.
  • Experience analyzing financial and balance-sheet data.
  • Exposure to interest-rate risk, funding or financial-market activities.
  • Experience preparing management reports and financial analysis.
