- As Regional Tooling Center Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Tool Center supporting Field Service activities across the Europe & Africa region.
- You will ensure that tools and technical equipment are safely maintained, calibrated, available, properly stored, and ready for deployment to Field Service projects.
- You will combine hands-on technical understanding with team leadership, logistics, inventory management, budgeting, and operational planning to ensure reliable and efficient tooling support for Gas Services projects.
How You'll Make an Impact
Tool Center Operations & Maintenance:
- Oversee the maintenance, functional checks, and condition assessment of tools and technical equipment.
- Identify equipment defects, wear, and nonconformities and initiate appropriate repair or replacement actions.
- Ensure tools and equipment are operationally ready to support Field Service activities.
- Maintain the Tool Center according to 5S and organizational standards, ensuring a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, organization, and accessibility of tooling and technical equipment.
- Prepare operational reports and monitor equipment performance trends to support continuous improvement.
Inventory & Tool Management:
- Manage tool inventory, calibration status, life-cycle records, and equipment usage through the digital warehouse system.
- Receive, inspect, document, and store incoming and outgoing tools, equipment, and spare parts.
- Ensure accurate preparation of delivery and dispatch documentation.
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate replenishment activities to prevent shortages and maintain operational continuity.
- Perform regular physical stock counts and reconcile discrepancies between system records and actual inventory.
- Drive improvements in inventory control processes and digital warehouse workflows.
- Coordinate tool preparation, dispatch, and return activities to ensure timely Field Service support.
Logistics, Procurement & Field Service Support:
- Coordinate with technical and Field Service teams to understand tooling requirements and ensure timely equipment availability.
- Monitor ordered tools and maintain visibility of procurement status, delivery timelines, and operational readiness.
- Work closely with procurement and purchasing teams to maintain adequate stock levels and follow up on open orders.
- Support logistics activities related to tooling deployment, including temporary imports and exports where applicable.
- Ensure effective coordination of tooling requirements for Field Service projects within the region.
- Manage personnel assigned to the Tool Center, including task allocation, daily coordination, workload balancing, and performance follow-up.
- Provide effective leadership and promote collaboration across the Tool Center team.
- Ensure strict compliance with applicable safety procedures, including LOTO, PPE, and equipment safety checks.
- Maintain a strong safety culture and safe working environment across all Tool Center activities.
Budgeting & Continuous Improvement:
- Drive budgeting and CAPEX planning for tooling investments and operational requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve Tool Center efficiency, equipment availability, inventory management, and operational processes.
- Independently drive initiatives that support business growth and operational performance.
- Contribute beyond day-to-day operations by identifying and implementing strategic improvement opportunities.
- Use operational and equipment data to support informed decision-making and tooling investment priorities.
- Technical or mechanical education is considered an advantage.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Field Service and/or workshop environments.
- 5+ years of experience in logistics, preferably including temporary imports and exports.
- Experience managing tooling, equipment, inventory, and workshop or Tool Center operations.
- Experience leading and coordinating technical personnel.
