Job Description

This entry professional role ensures the temple ordinances are kept pure and made available to worthy Church members. They provide an environment where patrons may have a positive and uplifting experience each time they come to the temple. They work to maintain and operate temples at standards established by the First Presidency. They support temples/supporting buildings that total up to 40,000 square feet. This role may be people supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with vendor coordination for routine maintenance and supplies.
  • Provide data entry and support for budgeting.
  • Assist the Temple Facilities Manager (TFM) with maintenance planning and organization by using finance, equipment, work order, and other related software tools as may be provided. Assist with facility budgets and financial planning.
  • Demonstrate Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: Identify and issues related to facility operations, safety, and maintenance. Report issues to the Temple Facilities Manager. Executes compliance and safety measures under the direction of the TFM.
  • Perform Customer Service: Coordinates inquiries and complaints effectively and professionally, under guidance and direction of the TFM
  • Engage in Collaboration and Teamwork: Executes direction in the Temple Facilities Manager's absence in the general organizational supervision of the physical plant. Give work direction to Temple Facilities Assistants.
  • Performs necessary maintenance and repairs in the following areas as assigned:
  • Ensure that all computerized heating and air conditioning equipment and controls operate at maximum efficiency.
  • Service complex water treatment equipment for boilers and culinary water systems, cooling tower and chilled water systems, and conduct water treatment tests to maintain proper pH, hardness levels, and conductivity of the water.
  • Maintain and repair laundry equipment to assure optimum and reliable operation.
  • Maintain baptismal font filtering and water purification system, water supply, mixing valves, etc. in order to maintain necessary pH control and sanitizing levels of water as specified by local codes.
  • Maintain electrical system, including the following: Heavy industrial high-voltage three-phase wiring, conventional and electronic motor control system.
  • Lighting systems of various voltages, lamp types, and control methods.
  • Clean, maintain, and repair electronic systems including computerized systems, display panels, printers, digital and analog communication cables, and uninterruptable power supplies.
  • Service and adjust all projection, sound, and communication systems.
  • Make necessary modifications to any temple mechanical or electrical systems as needed. May supervise 1-2 FTE.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree , HND, OND, Trade Test Certificate, City & Guilds certification, or equivalent technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Building Technology, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of progressively responsible experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, engineering support, or a specialized trade.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and general building systems, including preventive maintenance practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and able to use computerized maintenance management systems, work-order software, and web-based reporting tools.
  • Relevant technical certifications such as Trade Test Certification, NABTEB, City & Guilds, HVAC certification, NEMSA certification (where applicable), or equivalent industry-recognized credentials are strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of occupational health and safety practices, including proper use of PPE and hazard identification.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record may be required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. (23 kg) independently and perform the physical requirements associated with facilities maintenance work.
