About the Role

  • IPMC LIMITED is looking for a hands-on Technology Officer to support the design, development, operation and continuous improvement of our data intelligence and subscription-based digital platforms. The role works across software engineering, live-data systems, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, APIs, DevOps and emerging AI capabilities, with increasing technical ownership as experience grows. Key Responsibilities
  • Build, maintain and support backend services, web applications, APIs, data services, integrations, testing, releases and production systems.
  • Develop and operate live and near-real-time data pipelines, including ingestion, validation, transformation, storage, enrichment, reconciliation and data quality monitoring.
  • Support subscription technology including user access, authentication, authorization, billing and payment integrations, renewals, webhooks, usage tracking and service notifications.
  • Support cloud infrastructure, databases, containers, networking, backups, disaster recovery, CI/CD, observability, logging, alerting and performance tuning.
  • Implement secure development and operational controls including IAM/RBAC, least privilege, encryption, secrets management, vulnerability management, patching, audit logging and incident response.
  • Evaluate and implement practical AI, machine learning, automation, forecasting, anomaly detection, search, summarization and decision-support use cases where relevant.
  • Work with product, commercial, finance, customer success, data, infrastructure, security and external vendors while contributing to documentation, project delivery and technical decisions.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, Computer Engineering or a related field. Strong equivalent practical experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, data platforms, cloud technology, digital products or technology operations. Strong candidates with substantial project experience may also be considered.
  • Experience building or supporting data-intensive web or SaaS platforms using APIs, databases, background processing, integrations and production support.
  • Good understanding of live or near-real-time data, ETL/ELT, event-driven or message-based systems, data quality controls and operational monitoring.
  • Strong problem-solving, documentation and communication skills.

Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • Software & Web: Python using FastAPI, Django or Flask; SQL; Node.js/TypeScript, Java, .NET or PHP; JavaScript/TypeScript with React, Vue or Angular.
  • APIs & Integration: REST APIs, GraphQL where appropriate, WebSockets or server-sent events, OAuth 2.0/OIDC, JWT, webhooks, API gateways, rate limiting and third-party integrations.
  • Data Platforms: PostgreSQL or MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch or OpenSearch; Pandas, NumPy, ETL/ELT, Airflow, Dagster or Prefect, dbt, data validation and reconciliation.
  • Streaming & Messaging: Kafka, Redpanda, RabbitMQ, cloud queues or equivalent technologies.
  • Cloud, DevOps & SRE: AWS, Azure or Google Cloud; Linux; Docker; Kubernetes where appropriate; Git; CI/CD; Terraform or equivalent; Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, Sentry, Datadog or New Relic. Security, AI & Subscription: IAM/RBAC, MFA, encryption, WAF, OWASP, vulnerability scanning, audit logs, backup/recovery and incident response; scikit-learn and practical ML/AI knowledge, with PyTorch, TensorFlow, vector search, RAG or local model deployment as advantages; subscription entitlements, billing/payment integrations, usage metering, renewals and webhooks.
  • Candidates do not need to have used every tool listed. Strong capability in the core areas, sound technical judgement and the ability to learn and deepen expertise are important.
