Job Position: Technical Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer

About the role

  • We are looking for an exceptional Technical Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer who can combine strategic thinking, business analysis, technology literacy and project coordination to support executive decision-making and organisational execution.
  • The successful candidate will work directly with the CEO to coordinate strategic initiatives, monitor business performance, prepare executive-level reports and presentations, and ensure effective follow-through on key management decisions.
  • You will serve as an important coordination point between the CEO and the company's commercial, technical, finance and corporate services functions.
  • This is not a conventional administrative or personal assistant role. It requires a professional who can independently analyse complex business issues, conduct research, develop strategic recommendations and coordinate high-priority initiatives.
  • We are particularly interested in candidates with backgrounds in management consulting, technology consulting, corporate strategy, business analysis, project management or executive advisory.

Key responsibilities

Strategic planning and executive support:

  • Support the CEO in developing, communicating and executing the company's strategic priorities.
  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable implementation plans, milestones and performance indicators.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support executive decision-making.
  • Prepare strategic briefs, executive presentations, business cases and decision papers.
  • Coordinate strategic planning sessions, executive workshops and management reviews.
  • Maintain a structured register of the CEO's strategic priorities, decisions and assigned actions.
  • Monitor the implementation of strategic initiatives and identify execution risks, delays and dependencies.

Business analysis and performance monitoring:

  • Consolidate and analyse business performance reports from Commercial, Technology, Finance and Corporate Services.
  • Develop executive dashboards, management reporting templates and performance scorecards.
  • Monitor departmental performance against approved business objectives and identify operational gaps.
  • Prepare periodic business performance summaries and executive management reports.
  • Conduct business analysis, feasibility assessments and financial reviews to support strategic decisions.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend opportunities for improvement.
  • Support management in evaluating business performance, resource allocation and organisational effectiveness.

Technology and digital transformation:

  • Conduct research on emerging GovTech trends, digital public infrastructure, enterprise technology and public-sector digital transformation opportunities.
  • Support the CEO in evaluating strategic technology initiatives, product opportunities and potential technology partnerships.
  • Work closely with the CTO and technical teams to monitor strategic technology projects and product development milestones.
  • Translate complex technical information into clear executive-level briefs and presentations.
  • Support the preparation of technology concept papers, solution briefs and presentations for government and institutional stakeholders.
  • Research relevant government digital transformation programmes, technology policies and emerging market opportunities.
  • Monitor the progress of strategic technology initiatives and highlight issues requiring executive attention.

Strategic project coordination and execution:

  • Coordinate high-priority projects and special assignments delegated by the CEO.
  • Develop project implementation plans, milestone trackers, action registers and progress reports.
  • Monitor the execution of strategic initiatives across departments.
  • Follow up with responsible teams to ensure timely completion of agreed deliverables.
  • Identify project risks, cross-functional dependencies and execution bottlenecks.
  • Facilitate collaboration between departmental heads on initiatives requiring executive coordination.
  • Prepare consolidated project status reports and escalate critical issues to the CEO.
  • Support the implementation of corrective actions and operational improvement initiatives.

Executive stakeholder and partnership coordination:

  • Support the CEO in coordinating relationships with strategic partners, government institutions, technology partners and other key stakeholders.
  • Conduct background research and prepare briefing notes ahead of high-level executive engagements.
  • Develop presentations, executive summaries and supporting materials for strategic meetings.
  • Coordinate internal preparation for partnership discussions and institutional engagements.
  • Document strategic meeting outcomes, agreed commitments and assigned responsibilities.
  • Follow up with relevant departments to ensure timely implementation of agreed actions.
  • Support the coordination and monitoring of strategic partnerships and joint initiatives.

Corporate governance and executive reporting:

  • Support the preparation of board presentations, management reports and executive performance updates.
  • Coordinate the collection and consolidation of information required for management and board-level reviews.
  • Track the implementation of relevant management and board decisions.
  • Maintain accurate records of strategic decisions, assigned responsibilities and implementation deadlines.
  • Work with departmental heads to ensure executive reports are accurate, timely and complete.
  • Handle sensitive commercial, operational and strategic information with appropriate confidentiality and discretion.

Executive office coordination:

  • Manage the CEO's strategic action register and monitor progress on delegated assignments.
  • Coordinate information flow between the CEO and departmental heads.
  • Support the prioritisation of matters requiring executive attention.
  • Prepare agendas, briefing materials and action summaries for key management meetings.
  • Ensure management decisions and commitments are documented and tracked.
  • Undertake special projects and strategic assignments as directed by the CEO.

What success looks like in this role

You will be expected to:

  • Provide timely, accurate and insightful analysis that supports executive decision-making.
  • Ensure strategic initiatives and high-priority assignments are effectively coordinated and monitored.
  • Produce high-quality executive briefs, management reports, presentations and decision- support materials.
  • Improve visibility over organisational performance through structured dashboards and reporting.
  • Facilitate effective collaboration between the CEO and departmental heads.
  • Ensure timely follow-through on executive decisions, strategic commitments and assigned actions.
  • Identify operational risks, execution gaps and opportunities for organisational improvement.

Essential requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Economics or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of five years' relevant professional experience in strategy, business analysis, technology consulting, project management, executive advisory or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse complex business and technical information and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Experience supporting senior executives or coordinating cross-functional business initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of technology businesses, enterprise technology solutions or digital transformation.
  • Excellent research, analytical, business writing and presentation skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Strong project coordination, stakeholder management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent professional judgement and the ability to handle confidential information.

Desirable qualifications and experience:

  • MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification.
  • Experience in management consulting, technology consulting, corporate strategy or a CEO's office.
  • Professional certification in project management, business analysis or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with GovTech, digital public infrastructure and public-sector digital transformation.
  • Experience developing executive dashboards, financial models and board-level presentations.
  • Proficiency in business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
  • Experience coordinating strategic partnerships or high-priority organisational initiatives.

Salary

N800,000 per month.
