To supervise and authorize settlements and support Unit Head in providing quality service to partners in the area of settlement of transactions

Key Responsibilities

Understanding of governing principles and rules of card settlements.
Clear understanding of Visa, Verve, Afrigo, Amex and Mastercard settlement process and procedures.
Ensure timely settlement of card transactions.
Balance incoming and outgoing transaction report against settlement values received from the associations (Switches).
Ensure correct entries to relevant settlement, expense or revenue accounts daily.
Responsible for ensuring that existing internal controls and regulatory policies over the settlement process are strictly adhere to.
Ensure the merchant transactions are posted into appropriate GL and account.
Ensure that suspense accounts are cleared daily.
Ensure that all regulatory reports are rendered as at when due.
Ensure accurate and timely merchant settlements
Ensure prompt processing of charge backs to avoid exposure.
Ensure prompt processing of credit cards settlement and repayment files daily.
Ensure DTS and credit cards reconciliation.
Responsible for championing of automation of Settlement processes.
Analyse Settlement data to identify trends, issues and areas for improvement.
Ensure regular training and guidance to settlement officers.
Foster strong relationships with partners and other stakeholders
Identify and mitigate potential risk in settlement processes.

Qualification

First degree in any Discipline with a minimum of Second-Class honors.
Relevant Masters' degree will be an advantage
Professional Membership: A recognized professional certification will be an added advantage
Minimum Experience: Minimum of 6 years relevant experience and exposure in the marketing of financial services, will be an added advantage.
