Key Responsibilities

  • Install, rack, cable, troubleshoot, replace, audit, and decommission enterprise server and storage hardware.
  • Administer enterprise storage and SAN environments. including LUN provisioning, snapshots, replication. performance tuning, capacity planning, zoning, switch maintenance, and firmware updates.
  • Manage VMware vSphere and Oracle VM environments: VM deployment, resource allocation, templates, HA/DRS clusters, P2V migrations, patching, and upgrades.
  • Administer and secure RHEL. Oracle Linux, and Oracle Solaris systems: perform installation, configuration, tuning. troubleshooting, and hardening to CIS, DISA STIG, and internal security standards.
  • Plan and execute OS, hypervisor, and firmware patching in accordance with approved change procedures, including validation and compliance reporting.
  • Monitor infrastructure health, alerts, capacity, and performance, complete preventive maintenance, environmental checks, firmware reviews, and restoration tests for VoIP and UPS systems.
  • Validate and troubleshoot backups using platforms such as Commvault and Veeam.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for server, storage, and operating-system incidents; collaborate with onsite teams. Service Desk, and Network teams; participate in a 247 on-call rotation.
  • Maintain runbooks, system diagrams, physical layouts. ITSM records, and weekly system-health reports.

Authority & Accountability

  • Executes approved standard procedures and emergency changes needed to restore critical services, with prompt notification and post-incident documentation. Recommends infrastructure, capacity, and process improvements; non-emergency changes require CAB approval.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on enterprise infrastructure experience.
  • Strong expertise in RHEL 7/8/9. Oracle Linux, Solaris 11.4. VMware vSphere, enterprise storage, SAN zoning. data-center hardware troubleshooting, TCP/IP, infrastructure security, and Bash, Python, or PowerShell automation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • RHCE, VCP-DCV, CompTIA Server+, or relevant vendor certifications.
  • Experience with Solaris 10/11, Oracle VM, Ansible. Terraform, and regulated financial-services environments.
