Lead and oversee the company’s financial operations, ensuring effective financial management, statutory compliance, business performance monitoring and financial sustainability within a healthcare supplies and distribution environment.
Manage financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow, import costing, credit control and ERP-based financial processes while providing strategic financial support to the COO and CEO.Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements and management reports to support decision-making.
Develop and monitor annual budgets, forecasts and cash flow projections.
Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payment matching and bank reconciliations.
Manage import costing processes, landed cost calculations and inventory valuation activities.
Oversee foreign currency transactions and international supplier payment processes.
Manage credit control, debt collection activities and customer account reconciliations.
Monitor working capital requirements and implement strategies to improve liquidity and cash flow performance.
Ensure compliance with Kenyan tax laws, statutory obligations and financial reporting requirements.
Maintain accurate financial data and records using Odoo ERP or a comparable enterprise resource planning system.
Strengthen and maintain internal financial controls, compliance frameworks and risk management processes.
Supervise, mentor and develop members of the accounts and finance team.
Provide financial insights, performance analysis and strategic recommendations to the COO and CEO.
Support business growth initiatives through sound financial planning and performance management.Qualifications
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
CPA (K), ACCA or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax regulations, statutory compliance and financial reporting requirements.
Proficiency in Odoo ERP or a similar enterprise resource planning system.Experience
Experience
Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in a trading, distribution (adsbygoogle=window.adsbygoogle||[]).push({});or import-based business.
Experience within the healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical supplies or medical equipment sector is highly desirable.
Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
Strong experience in credit control, reconciliations and working capital management.
Hands-on experience managing import costing, inventory valuation and foreign currency transactions.
