Lead and optimize the organization’s operations function by establishing efficient operating processes, strengthening internal controls, ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting business growth within a regulated financial services environment.
Manage operational risk, service delivery, transaction processing, vendor relationships and operational governance while supporting the organization's strategic growth and future leadership pipeline toward Head of Operations or COO roles.Key Responsibilities

Design and manage operational processes across client onboarding, transaction processing, trade support, settlement, custody coordination, records management and exception handling.
Establish and oversee daily operational controls, maker-checker approvals, transaction reconciliations, cash reconciliations, incident management logs and escalation procedures.
Safeguard client assets, information and confidential records through strong operational control frameworks.
Manage relationships and service-level performance with custodians, settlement agents, banking partners, technology vendors and other critical service providers.
Lead the selection, implementation and optimization of operating systems, operational dashboards, data control mechanisms and business continuity frameworks.
Coordinate information security and operational resilience initiatives in collaboration with the IT function.
Develop and maintain operational policies, procedures, service standards and segregation-of-duty controls across business functions.
Recruit, mentor and manage operations staff while setting measurable performance objectives and service standards.
Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvement initiatives.
Support the CEO in preparation of operating budgets, capacity planning, cost management and board reporting.
Collaborate with Finance to ensure accuracy of financial records, regulatory reporting and management information.
Coordinate operational support for licensing requirements, audits and regulatory reviews.
Track remediation of audit findings, regulatory observations and operational control gaps.

Maintain effective oversight of outsourced service providers and third-party operational activities.Qualifications
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce or a related field.
Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, CFA, CIFA or equivalent are an added advantage.Experience
Experience
Minimum five (5) to eight (8) years of relevant experience in investment banking, banking, capital markets or another regulated financial services environment.
Practical experience working within Capital Markets Authority (CMA) and/or Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) regulatory frameworks.
Proven experience managing teams, operations functions and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Strong understanding of financial services operations, operational risk management, internal controls and governance frameworks.Key Competencies
