Mombasa County is one of the 47 Counties of Kenya. Its capital and the only city in the county is Mombasa. Initially it was one of the former Districts of Kenya but in 2013 it was reconstituted as a county, on the same boundaries. It is the smallest county in Kenya, covering an area of 229.7 km2 excluding 65 km2 of water mass. Deputy Director, Operations Inspectorate Supervise operations of the enforcement/inspectorate department and manage the staff under him/ her. Organize meetings with head of units who are under him/ her and plan on various operations aimed at ensuring safety of properties within the county. Ensure that the rapid response unit is always active to respond to emergencies which may arise within the county. Authorize demolition of illegal structures within the county. Prepare duty roosters for all sections under inspectorate and ensure the department staff are undertaking their duties accordingly. Arrange for staff development and refresher programs in conjunction with hr. Work with relevant stakeholders and bodies to ensure security is maintained within the county. Respond to escalated alleged violations of regulations, policies, procedures and standards by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigation procedures. In the absence of the director, attend security committee meetings to enable proper planning of security operations within the county. Requirements & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in criminology or security management or any relevant degree from a university recognized in kenya. (a master’s degree in the relevant field will be an added advantage) Eight (8) years’ experience, three (3) years of which must be senior position in the public service or private sector. Chief Superintending Engineer (Mechanical) Undertaking consultancy services, equipment utilization and maintenance, and planning and development functions. Overseeing staff welfare and discipline within the mechanical engineering function. Requirements & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. Served in the grade of senior superintending engineer (mechanical) or in a comparable and relevant position for at least three (3) years. Registration as a professional engineer with the engineers board of kenya (ebk) and a valid practising licence. Current valid annual practising licence from the engineers board of kenya. Completion of a strategic leadership development programme lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized institution will be an added advantage. Requirements & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental management, environmental engineering, waste management, natural resource management, engineering, public administration or a related field from a recognized institution. Masters in environmental science, environmental management, environmental engineering, waste management, natural resource management, engineering, public administration or a related field from a recognized institution. At least five (5) years’ relevant professional experience in solid waste management, environmental management or a related field, including at least three (3) years in a supervisory or management position. Demonstrated knowledge of integrated solid waste management systems and applicable legislation. Advanced Oracle DBA skills including High Availability setups (RAC, Data Guard), multitenant architecture administration, Exadata engineered systems, and RMAN backup/restore procedures. Proven expertise in database performance tuning, cloud migrations, database monitoring (Enterprise Manager, Splunk ITSI), and project management for database upgrades and implementations.
