We're looking for a Student Travel and Member Engagement Specialist to own high-volume outbound member texting for a travel membership company whose members are primarily college students. You will send outbound texts to a large volume of members on a recurring basis, personalizing each message just enough to feel human, fun, and relevant rather than copied and pasted. This role is about speed, accuracy, and quality at scale not strategy, marketing, or primarily inbound support.
The audience is college-aged. They text casually, they know when something feels scripted, and they respond to people who feel like peers rather than customer service reps. The right person for this role is digitally native, plugged into social media and current culture, and can match the energy and communication style of a college student naturally. If you can text like a friend, bring genuine enthusiasm to the work, and stay sharp and detail-oriented while moving through a high volume of conversations, this role is a strong fit.
Why You'll Want to Join
You will be paid in USD (bi-monthly: every 15th and 30th)
Full-time, 100% remote role
Preferred overlap with EST hours
Paid Time Off and Holiday observance per company policy
Clear path to expanded responsibilities including inbound support and broader member success work as trust is built
What You'll Work On
Send outbound texts to a large volume of members using approved messaging patterns and base templates
Personalize messages so they feel timely, human, and casual rather than copied and pasted
Review recent message history before sending so members do not receive repetitive styles or tones
Notice details such as recent or upcoming travel, or planning stage, and use them to choose the best message variation
Move through a high number of conversations quickly while staying accurate and detail-oriented
Read member conversations regularly to build familiarity and judgment over time
Follow messaging guidance while making smart small adjustments when needed
Escalate unusual, high-stakes, or unclear situations rather than guessing
Match the casual, upbeat tone that resonates with a college-aged audience without losing accuracy
What You Bring
Excellent written English with a strong feel for natural, casual US texting language messages must sound like a real person texting a friend, not a scripted support rep
Genuinely plugged into current social media, pop culture, and the communication style that resonates with college students
Upbeat, fun, and approachable energy that comes through naturally in written communication
Ability to move through high volumes of conversations efficiently without becoming careless
Comfortable with repetitive communication work at pace without losing quality or tone
Strong memory for prior messages and context across conversations
Reliable, organized, and consistent, with good judgment on when to ask vs. act
Experience in group travel, student travel, campus programs, or similar youth-oriented travel contexts is a strong plus
Nice to Have
Prior experience in customer communication, outreach, texting-based support, or inbox management
Familiarity with travel, membership, or subscription-based businesses
Experience personalizing outreach at scale
Active presence on social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, or X
