Shipping Operations Clerk Fmn Infratructure - Bulk Terminal Limited

The Job

• Monitor daily cargo operations, including vessel loading and unloading, to ensure efficient and timely execution.
• Board vessels upon berthing as the owner's representative and liaise with relevant government agencies to facilitate required clearances.
• Coordinate pilotage arrangements and other operational requirements for incoming and outgoing vessels.
• Prepare and maintain port operation reports, including Statements of Facts (SOF) for vessel loading and unloading activities.
• Notify relevant government agencies in advance of vessel berthing and sailing schedules.
• Attend to vessel crew and owners' operational requirements to ensure satisfactory service delivery.
• Process vessel berthing and sailing clearances, permits, and other required approvals with the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).

Qualification

• 5 O' level credits including Mathematics & English in not more than 2 sittings.
• NABTEB, Trade Test, City & Guilds, Technical certification.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years' cognate experience in shipping operations, vessel agency, port operations, or a related field.

The Person Must:

• Have a good understanding of shipping operations, vessel husbandry, and port procedures.
• Have good communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with vessel crews, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Have good numerical skills SOF documentation and calculations.
• Be able to prepare accurate operational reports and maintain proper documentation.
