Sewing Machine Operator

Introduction

• Novus Print: Montague Gardens is seeking to appoint a diligent individual with knowledge and experience in an FMCG printing environment to take on the role of a Sewing Machine Operator in the Bindery Department. The successful candidate will report to the Production Co-ordinator.

Job Description

• Read work orders to determine setup specifications and instructions
• Operate the sewing machine following the correct standard operating procedures
• Record work actions on QTMS
• Label(tag) full pallets using the standard control sheet stating title, job number, quantity of job and the amount on a pack.
• Observe and monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and/or adjustments
• Maintain daily production records
• Basic preventative operator maintenance
• Maintain general health and safety standards in the production environment
• Adhoc general assistance on all machines

Minimum requirements

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
• 2-3 years working as a sewing machine operator or similar will be advantageous
• 1 to 2 years experience within a warehouse environment
• Previous experience within a FMCG environment
