Sessional Professional Nurses Posts (specialty) Critical Care Or Trauma And Emergency

Requirements :

• Grade 12. Basic qualification accredited with the South African Nursing Council in terms of Government Notice 425, i.e., diploma/degree in Nursing as a Professional Nurse with midwifery or equivalent including operating theater experience not less than two years.
• A post basic qualification (Operating theatre, midwifery, ICU or Trauma and Emergency) with the duration of at least 1 year diploma in any of the specialties will be an added advantage. A minimum of 9 years appropriate/ recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council in General Nursing. South African Nursing Council annual practicing certificate (2026).
• Knowledge of medical and nursing supplies, consumables, and healthcare equipment. Stock control, inventory management. Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Verifiable proof of experience. Strong leadership, good communication and sound interpersonal skills are important.

Duties :

• Demonstrate understanding of medical and nursing supplies, consumables, and healthcare equipment Knowledge of Batho-Pele principles, Relevant Legislations, Regulations, Policies and Patient`s Right Charter. Coordinate projects when delegated. Expected to serve in Hospital Committees to achieve. Good communication, organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Strong attention to detail, integrity, accountability, and commitment to patient safety Provision of effective training. Provision of effective support to Nursing Services. Flexible to rotate to all Functional Business Units (FBU) of the institution (internally and externally) including ABT. Maintain Professional growth/ethical standards and development of self and subordinates.
