Sessional Medical Specialist Paediatrics

Requirements :

• Appropriate qualification that allows for registration with HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Paediatrics. Registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialist in Paediatrics. Experience in undergraduate teaching and research will be an added advantage

Duties :

• Provide consultant-led specialist paediatric and neonatal care across designated inpatient, outpatient and emergency services, including complex case review, multidisciplinary management, referral and continuity of care.
• Support neonatal and paediatric critical care within the agreed scope of service and roster. Supervise, teach and assess registrars, medical officers, interns and undergraduate students through ward rounds, clinics, bedside teaching and formal academic activities.
• Participate in mortality and morbidity reviews, clinical audit, patient safety, quality improvement, guideline development, research, outreach and clinical governance.
