Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute business development plans to achieve sales, revenue, and gross profit targets.
Identify, pursue, and acquire new customers across freight forwarding, customs clearance, transportation, warehousing, and 3PL services.
Build and maintain relationships with importers, exporters, manufacturers, NGOs, retailers, and other key decision-makers across East Africa.
Prepare proposals, quotations, and commercial presentations, negotiate terms, and close new business opportunities.
Maintain an active sales pipeline, track opportunities through CRM systems, and provide regular sales forecasts and performance updates.
Work closely with Operations, Customer Service, and Finance teams to ensure smooth onboarding, service delivery, and retention of customers.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and business opportunities across East Africa while representing the company at relevant industry and networking events.
Key Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years' recent experience in business development or sales within an international freight forwarding, logistics, or 3PL company.
Experience selling international freight forwarding, customs clearance, transportation, warehousing, and integrated logistics solutions.
Experience handling international freight across air, sea, and road.
Knowledge of the logistics market across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Rwanda.
An existing network of customers and decision-makers within the East African logistics and supply chain industry.
Proven track record of achieving sales, revenue, and gross profit targets.
