REQUIREMENTS Minimum education (essential): Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field. Minimum applicable experience (years): Minimum 7 years' experience in the construction industry, specifically working for a building contractor. Required nature of experience: Management of the complete quantity surveying function. Tender preparation, evaluation and administration. Subcontractor claims, valuations and payment processes. Preparation and management of fortnightly payments. Final account preparation and settlement. Commercial and contractual management within construction projects. Experience overseeing or mentoring junior quantity surveying staff advantageous. Skills and Knowledge (essential): Experience using Candy CCS. Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes. Excellent cost management and financial analysis skills. Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities. Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple project requirements. Strong leadership and communication skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS, WEIGHTS AND OBJECTIVES Quantity Surveying & Commercial Management Oversee and manage the company's complete QS function. Monitor project costs and commercial performance. Manage contractual and commercial matters across projects. Ensure accurate financial administration and cost control. Tender Management Manage tender preparation and submission processes. Review project pricing, quantities and cost estimates. Evaluate tender documentation and commercial requirements. Ensure accurate and competitive tender submissions. Subcontractor & Payment Management Manage subcontractor claims and valuations. Oversee fortnightly payment processes. Review and verify payment applications. Ensure accurate payment administration and documentation. Final Accounts & Contract Administration Prepare and manage project final accounts. Oversee contractual obligations and commercial documentation. Resolve commercial queries and contractual matters. Ensure accurate project financial close-out. Team Management & Coordination Provide commercial guidance to project teams. Oversee and support the future Junior Quantity Surveyor. Assist with the recruitment and selection of the Junior QS. Promote effective coordination between commercial and operational teams.
