Senior Planning Engineer At Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited

Job Purpose

• Manage all activities related to the execution and delivery of the developing, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting project schedules to ensure successful project execution within approved timeframes.
• The role involves coordinating with project teams, identifying schedule risks, providing mitigation measures, and supporting management decision-making through effective planning and project controls processes.' to the Asset team after start-up of the facility.
• Planning process includes scheduling and coordinating all activities which is engineering, technical assurance, technical integration, procurement, management of change, Construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning,
• Lead a team to develop planning deliverables for projects to the required quality standard in a timely manner.
• Contribute to the integrated commissioning and start-up activities required to ensure the safe and timely start-up of the facilities on schedule.
• Lead the planning discipline and function as the lead for ANOH Project.

Responsibilities

• Provide Leadership for a team of highly motivated Discipline Planning Engineering professionals.
• As discipline lead, he/she will be expected to maintain and develop high level of technical skills and to take an active role in the development and training of less experienced team members.
• He/she will be accountable for the collective team performance which is measured in terms of demonstrable value-addition to ANOH project delivery.

Other accountabilities of this position include but not limited to:

• Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent planning software.
• Provide project management support in the development of the work breakdown structure, activities, logic, resources, and progress of the integrated project schedule, i.e. baseline.
• Develop recovery plans and mitigation strategies for schedule delays.
• Generate short-term, medium-term, and long-term look-ahead schedules.
• Monitor project progress and update schedules regularly.
• Develop planning and control management procedures, planning, progress monitoring and schedule risk procedures.
• Track physical progress and productivity trends. Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Develop dashboards and management reports highlighting project status, risks, and forecast completion dates.
• Present schedule updates to project teams and senior management.
• Carry out progress and performance measurement and analysis (productivity and HoTT). Perform site verifications.
• Monitor project progress and forecasts (Variance Analysis, Earned Value Analysis, etc.).
• Routinely analyze and evaluate the current project status against the baseline schedule, assessing the impacts of design or construction changes to the schedule.
• Report on the status of schedule to the PMT and stakeholders.
• Initiate periodic risk analysis to determine latest probabilistic for schedule contingencies.
• Provide the Project Services Manager with accurate monthly progress updates, forecast completions, together with the critical path and trend analyses.
• Analyze trends that offer early warning of any deviations.
• Track all scope changes and their impact on baseline schedule and project risk profile as part of the project Management of Change (MoC) Process.
• Develop the contract key dates, milestones and Company plan dates for alignment with the overall integrated plan, in evaluating bid schedules and in reviewing contractor plans to support contract award recommendations.
• ontribute to close-out reports as input to Lessons Learned and benchmarking efforts for other Renaissance Africa Energy Company Ltd (RAEC) projects

Requirements

• Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related disciplines.
• Minimum 8+ years project controls or appropriate experience in operating or subcontractor company environment.
• Working knowledge of project planning systems, tools and practices.
• Experience in onshore construction will be an added advantage.
• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Understanding of project controls principles.
• Conversant with Nigerian, Industry and International oil and gas facilities planning and control standards.
• Proven ability to deliver in a challenging environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a diverse background and cultural environments.
• Project Management skills with experience in managing contracts.
• Extensive Project management experience and skills with proven record of leading similar projects.

• Strong knowledge of the overall project management framework, key work processes and best practices.
• Project execution experience (e.g. engineering, construction, C&P, etc.).
• Proven interpersonal and relationships skills in complex environments with ability to manage and coach teams of diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent analytical skills (ability to analyze and interpret various sets of data related to project activities) and a high degree of skill in written and oral communications.
• Proficiency in Project Management software, MS Office and general computing skills.
