- The Senior Manager, Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy will support the development and implementation of CIoD Nigeria's stakeholder engagement and advocacy strategies in furtherance of the Institute's mandate and strategic priorities.
- The role will build and manage strategic relationships with government institutions and officials, regulators, policymakers, industry leaders, professional bodies, subject matter experts, business membership organisations and other relevant stakeholders. The incumbent will coordinate engagement and advocacy initiatives, support policy development and contribute to programmes that strengthen the Institute's influence and thought leadership on corporate governance, leadership and related national development issues.
Stakeholder Engagement Strategy
- Develop and implement stakeholder engagement plans aligned with CIoD Nigeria's mandate and strategic priorities.
- Build, manage and sustain relationships with priority government, regulatory, private-sector, professional and institutional stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships, collaborations and institutional engagements.
Advocacy & Policy Engagement
- Coordinate advocacy initiatives aimed at advancing the Institute's approved policy priorities and institutional objectives.
- Support engagement with government officials, policymakers, regulators and other decision-makers on corporate governance and leadership matters.
- Monitor policy, regulatory and institutional developments relevant to CIoD Nigeria and identify implications and engagement opportunities.
- Support the development of policy briefs, position papers, stakeholder briefs, consultation submissions and other advocacy materials.
Engagement Programmes & Representation
- Coordinate stakeholder meetings, policy dialogues, roundtables, consultations, courtesy visits and related engagement activities.
- Support programmes and forums designed to advance the Institute's advocacy agenda.
- Represent CIoD Nigeria at relevant stakeholder engagements, meetings, conferences and policy platforms as assigned.
Stakeholder Intelligence, Coordination & Reporting
- Maintain an accurate stakeholder database, relationship map and engagement tracker.
- Work with relevant Directorates to ensure coordinated stakeholder engagement and avoid duplication of institutional relationships.
- Prepare reports, briefs and updates on engagements, advocacy activities, stakeholder feedback and outcomes.
- Contribute to strengthening CIoD Nigeria's institutional voice and thought leadership.

ACADEMIC & PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Law, Management or another relevant discipline.
- Postgraduate degree in the above or a related discipline is compulsory.
- Membership of a relevant professional body such as CIoD, NBA, NIM, ICSAN or another relevant professional association is an advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years' relevant experience in stakeholder engagement, advocacy, public policy, government relations, institutional relations, corporate affairs or a related field.
- At least 3 years' experience in a senior managerial role.
- Demonstrable experience engaging government institutions, regulators, policymakers and senior private-sector stakeholders.
- Experience in a business membership organisation, professional body or similar institution is an advantage.
- Experience developing and implementing advocacy or stakeholder engagement initiatives.
- Experience in policy research, stakeholder consultations, partnerships and institutional engagement is an advantage.
