Senior Data Control Officer

SALARY SCALE :

• R549 006 - R683 991 p.a. (excluding benefits)

TERM OF APPOINTMENT: PERMANENT

LOCATION: MIDDELBURG, MPUMALANGA (MP313)

REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12 plus National Diploma in Information Technology/ Computer Science or relevant equivalent qualification (NQF 6). 5-8 years' relevant experience in data control of which 2 years must be in supervisory capacity. Sound knowledge of government finance, MFMA and Computer literacy (Ms Office). Valid code B driver's license.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Responsible for overall management and strategic planning of data division and control over data personnel. Maintenance of existing programmes and systems, testing there-off in conjunction with the software suppliers. Development of new systems and programmes as appropriate on own initiative, in collaboration with senior personnel or finance and other departments. Investigate and evaluate current methods and systems. Assist with design of systems and writing of programmes/ system specifications. Examine and manage security-system and audit control. Coding of programmes as required. Testing of programmes. Assist with implementing of systems and programmes, as well as instructions to end-users on using programmes. Continuously planning, scheduling and organising of Data Processing and format in which the data is collected and processed. Determine new system controls to prevent fault occurrence. Keep abreast of development within the Information Technology environment
