Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with strong experience in the manufacturing, FMCG, beauty, or cosmetics industry to oversee financial accounting, reporting, controls, and compliance.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, inventory and cost accounting, budgeting, taxation, and financial analysis, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS and applicable accounting standards.
  • Prepare management accounts and provide financial insights to management for decision-making.
  • Monitor and analyse production costs, inventory, raw materials, work-in-progress, finished goods, and cost of goods sold.
  • Conduct inventory reconciliations and investigate variances between physical and accounting records.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, and financial planning.
  • Ensure timely and accurate statutory reporting and compliance with relevant tax regulations.
  • Support external and internal audits by providing required schedules, documentation, and explanations.
  • Monitor fixed assets, depreciation, disposals, and asset registers.
  • Identify financial discrepancies, control weaknesses, and potential areas of financial leakage.
  • Develop and maintain effective internal financial controls.
  • Ensure accurate payroll-related accounting and reconciliation where applicable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5 - 8 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing, FMCG, beauty, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, or related industries.
  • ICAN/ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and Nigerian accounting/tax regulations.
  • Proven experience in inventory accounting, costing, financial reporting, and general ledger management.
  • Experience working with ERP/accounting software such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, Sage, or similar systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
