Industry: Education Job Description We are seeking a caring, responsible, attentive, and dependable School Bus Nanny to join its school transport team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety, comfort, and proper supervision of pupils throughout their school bus journey, from boarding to drop off. The candidate must be patient and comfortable working with children while maintaining a high level of professionalism at all times. Key Responsibilities Supervise pupils throughout the journey to and from school, ensuring their safety and wellbeing. Assist pupils safely when boarding and alighting from the school bus. Ensure pupils remain properly seated and follow all school bus safety rules throughout the journey. Confirm that all pupils scheduled for each route have boarded the bus and are safely accounted for at the end of each trip. Ensure that no pupil is left behind or unattended on the bus. Maintain a calm, orderly, and friendly atmosphere on the school bus. Assist younger pupils with their bags, seat belts, and other reasonable needs where necessary. Monitor pupils' behaviour and address minor issues appropriately while reporting serious or recurring concerns to the appropriate school authority. Maintain accurate records of pupils using the school bus and report any discrepancies immediately. Communicate promptly with the school regarding delays, incidents, emergencies, or any concerns involving pupils. Work closely with the School Bus Driver to ensure safe and efficient transportation. Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and general orderliness of the bus. Ensure that pupils are handed over appropriately at designated drop off points in accordance with the school's approved transport procedures. Handle pupils' belongings responsibly and report any lost or misplaced items. Provide appropriate assistance to pupils who may feel unwell or distressed during a journey and promptly notify the relevant school personnel. Maintain confidentiality regarding pupils, parents, staff, and school matters. Comply fully with the school's child safeguarding, health and safety, and transport policies. Requirements Minimum of an SSCE qualification. A higher qualification will be an advantage. Previous experience working with children, preferably in a school, daycare, nursery, or similar environment. Previous experience as a school bus nanny, attendant, caregiver, teaching assistant, nanny, or similar role will be an advantage. Must be patient, caring, observant, and comfortable working with children. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and responsible in challenging situations. Must be punctual, reliable, trustworthy, and physically fit. Must demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail. Must understand the importance of child safety and safeguarding. Applicants must be willing to comply with Pinefield Schools' policies and procedures.
