About the Role

  • We are looking for a self-motivated and target-driven Sales Specialist to join our Sales team in Mombasa.The successful candidate will be responsible for growing sales of ceramic products and daily-use porcelain, developing new business opportunities, converting prospects into customers, and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.
  • The role will focus on expanding the customer base across the Mombasa market and driving sales through retailers, distributors, wholesalers, and other relevant customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market and sell ceramic products and daily-use porcelain to retailers, distributors, wholesalers, and other customers.
  • Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities and customer segments.
  • Proactively follow up on leads, prospects, quotations, and potential sales to improve conversion.
  • Achieve agreed monthly and annual sales targets.
  • Conduct regular client visits, product presentations, and market visits to generate sales opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
  • Prepare quotations, negotiate prices, and close sales in line with approved Company policies and pricing guidelines.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, customer preferences, and pricing strategies.
  • Collect and share relevant market intelligence to support sales and business growth.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, prospects, orders, and market feedback.
  • Work closely with the showroom, warehouse, logistics, finance, and other relevant teams to ensure smooth order processing and timely delivery.
  • Follow up with customers on orders, deliveries, payments, and outstanding issues.
  • Provide customers with timely and accurate information on products, availability, pricing, orders, and deliveries.
  • Support timely invoicing and follow-up on customer payments to improve accountability and cash collection.
  • Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and service issues professionally and ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and strengthen customer retention.
  • Provide regular sales updates and reports to management, including sales performance, pipeline, market developments, and customer feedback.
  • Perform any other sales-related duties assigned by the Sales Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of proven sales experience, preferably in the ceramics, building materials, sanitary ware, home improvement, FMCG, or related industry.
  • Experience selling ceramic tiles, sanitary ware, daily-use porcelain, ceramic plates, cups, bowls, or related products is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of ceramic product types, sizes, finishes, applications, and customer requirements.
  • Proven ability to develop new customers and convert prospects into sales.
  • Experience working with retailers, distributors, wholesalers, or dealers is an added advantage.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good customer relationship management skills.
  • Strong numerical and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic sales reporting tools.
  • Must be self-motivated, target-driven, proactive, and able to work independently.\
